Data/Metadata

A discussion on the atom-syntax mailing list reminded me about a correlation between my thoughts on 1vCMS's XML-based backend and a post on The Fishbowl about metadata.

The short of it: frankly I believe there is no distinction between data and metadata, other than what you want to do with the data; both are data; metadata extends data, but via proxy data extends metadata.

It all depends on function.

Prep me!

Just installed my new WLAN and Bluetooth cards; dusted down my travel/suitcase; need to phone Orange about getting GPRS access working correctly on my mobile; need to get train ticket for Friday.

Long time no go

I've just taken down my only travel/suitcase from the top of my wardrobe; it had an actual inch worth of dust, that's how long it's been since I've had somewhere to go.

Fun with a pokemon beachball

Just had an interesting half an hours beachballing with a free Pokemon™ beachball, Joff got free with Nintendo Magazine.

You'd think getting hit in the head by an over-sized Pokeball™ would get old wouldn't you? You'd probably be right as well, if we weren't talking about 4 teenagers with a dose of summer-madness.
