Nokia 7650

After doing a lot of looking around different mobiles online, I came across the extremely smart mobile a few people were sporting at hackHull? last meet, the Nokia 7650, includes everything I want a few more, and should even come in handy for when I'm in London in July for EUvolt.

I've just ordered one for about £200 cheaper than usual, on the great crap pile.

Success on a stick!

1vFeeder is once again working, it turned out to be a problem with the code that handles conditional HTTP GET requests, which is strange as I haven't done a damned thing to that part of the code in months. Oh well.

This whole thing has taught me to start using CVS for the aggregator though, and to audit my code to make it cleaner, when that's all done I'll probably fully change the name.

Too much effort

If what I've just done doesn't fix my RSS aggregator, I'll be left with two options:

  • Give up and recode it from scratch (gah!)

  • Give up and look for another aggregator to use, the process which lead me to roll my own in the first place.

The main reason this is happening is because I didn't use CVS to keep copies of the different versions of my code, like I've been doing with 1vCMS, just slap a big sticker on my forehead saying "**MUPPET**".

La de da

Debugging's a bitch, especially when you don't have a flipping clue what's wrong, seems the quickfixes I tried last night not only didn't work, but a slight bug caused all my feeds to become empty, that's fixed now, but once again having the same problem from last night.

Bad coding karma

As I mentioned before, I logged 2 hours of working out bugs on Damian's site, bugs which weren't there before hand.

This very minute, my RSS Aggregator has dediceded to stop working. 90% of the feeds are empty, while the cache's show they aren't.

Someone out there must be finding this extremely funny, because I'm going out of my head trying to figure this out.

I've just done a few quickfixes, that may or may not have worked, but I'm too tired to care, so I'm going to go try and sleep.

Welcome to Damo-Kun tech support, would you like fries with that?

After logging about 2 hours worth of tech support and coding (working out bugs) for Damian's weblog, I've decided I need to get payed for this shit.
